Lily Gonzalez

Lily Gonzalez, singer/songwriter born in the UK to Spanish parents. Having started out in various original bands, she accidently fell into session work as a backing singer and percussionist.

Apart from being on stage with ABC, she has been lucky enough to work with artists as diverse as Lucie Silvas, Bono, KT Tunstall, Dave Stewart & Duran Duran.

However, throughout the years, she has continuously returned to her first love: writing and recording her own music! That's not to say that she has lost interest in sessions, as she continues to play with all sorts of musicians, and is keen to work with as many artists as possible.

As Lily says, "It keeps me on my toes! All the same, creatively, in my opinion, it's fair to say that I've been at my most prolific when co-writing with Andy Hamilton, a well established session player in his own right; Andy is a saxophonist in great demand having played with too many artists to mention, (clever bugger!)".

As a duo, they have a wide range of influences including Steely Dan, Sheryl Crow, Prince, Bonnie Raitt, K. D. Lang, David Bowie & Annie Lennox to name but a few.
 
Lily stresses that they DO NOT want to do anybody an injustice by comparison, only that they want to tip their hats to the particular artists who have inspired them in their work.

She is interested in creating music with anybody who feels the same way.
